About the office:
505 Medical Massage was founded on the principle that Massage Therapy is part of regular healthcare and that Licensed Massage Therapists should hold themselves to high ethical and professional standards. This belief includes taking high quality continuing education, not accepting tipping, and keeping well detailed SOAP notes for each treatment.
Medical massage is thorough, specific work that is focused on treating medical conditions, chronic pain, surgery recovery, or injury. While medical massage does not have to be uncomfortable, medical massage can and often does include the use of deep pressure. Treatments will be based upon the individual needs of the patient. 505 Medical Massage does not do full body/relaxation massages.
We are the first medical massage company in New Mexico to offer all inclusive pricing for massage treatments with NO tipping. The price listed is the price you pay minus NM sales tax for all massage modalities, including Cupping, Gua Sha, Percussion Gun, and more!
Our treatment rooms are sanitized between every patient.
All patients are self pay at this time, but are welcome to use an FSA or HSA card for their treatments.
505 Medical Massage is located inside of Red Phoenix Acupuncture.
The Advanced Modalities Available
-
IASTM Blades Modality
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) Blades modality uses the beveled edge of a tool to correct imbalances in the fascia chains. The tool is moved either quickly or slowly to cue the nervous system into correcting the dysfunction in each area. A silicone tool is also used to address areas of nerve impingement, such as carpal tunnel syndrome. This modality is highly affective, yet gentle.
-
Dynamic Cupping
Dynamic Cupping involves dragging a silicone cup across the skin, placing cups static then stretching to enhance the stretch, placing a cup and pulling up on it to assist decompression, and placing cups static while working another area. This is done to stretch the soft tissue, decompress areas of restriction, and increase circulation. Cupping does NOT “remove toxins”, is not energy work, and does not need to leave very dark marks. There is no fire cupping used at 505 Medical Massage.
-
IASTM Gua Sha Modality
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) Gua Sha modality uses a tool that is scraped against the skin at approximately a 45* angle. Gua Sha helps to remove adhesions and “knots” in the muscles, reduces tension, and increases circulation. This modality compliments cupping well and is included in cupping sessions. Gua Sha does not need to be uncomfortable or leave dark marks.
-
Kinesio Taping
Kinesio Tape can be applied to assist proper muscle function, reduce swelling, resist tight muscles, improve fascia glide, improve posture, and support joints. Kinesio Tape must be applied in very specific ways in order to be affective, based upon each person’s needs and according to the origin and insertion points of muscles.
-
Percussion Gun
A percussion gun vibrates into the muscles layers to release tension and adhesions. Percussion guns have a wide range of attachments to properly address different areas of the body. There are multiple pressure levels, so each patient can be comfortable while receiving this treatment.
